Why did my extra help level change from one year to the next?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is required to periodically review your eligibility for extra help. The SSA reviews your resources, income and household composition to see if they have changed. This helps the SSA make sure you are still eligible for extra help and that you are getting all the benefits you deserve. Your extra help could increase because you have less income, fewer resources, or more people are dependent on you for care from one year to the next. Your amount of extra help could decrease or end altogether if your resources, income or both have increased.
