How can BCBSLA Care Management save you money on prescriptions?

Participation in the disease management program can save money on certain prescriptions. Prior to August 1, 2014, PPO, HMO, and CDHP members pay only $15 for certain brand-name drugs, when a generic is not available and $0 for certain generic drugs. Beginning August 1, 2014, PPO and HMO members will continue to receive certain no cost generic prescriptions and will receive certain name-brand prescriptions for $20 (31 day supply) / $40 (62 day supply) / $50 (93 day supply). The disease management prescription incentive for the HSA plan will remain with Express Scripts and will not change.

Covered drugs include certain drugs specifically prescribed for treating diabetes, coronary artery disease, heart failure, asthma, and COPD.
